What is hydrolyzed collagen and why does the dose matter?

Hydrolyzed collagen is the most effective form of collagen for supplementation. Unlike native collagen, the hydrolysis process breaks the protein chains into smaller peptides that the body can absorb directly in the small intestine.
Why 10 grams per serving?
The most robust clinical studies on joint collagen use doses between 8 and 12 grams per day. Below 5 grams, the effects are minimal. At XENTHOS we formulate with 10g per serving to sit inside the documented efficacy range.
Collagen types I, II and III
Each type of collagen has an affinity for specific tissues. Type II is predominant in joint cartilage, while type I structures tendons, ligaments and bone. Our formulas take this difference into account when selecting raw materials.
